Aston Batam Hotel & Residence welcomed Batam Tourism Polytechnic students through an industry visit program featuring hotel operations experience, sharing sessions, hotel tours, and breakfast experiences.
Aston Batam Hotel & Residence continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the development of human resources in the hospitality industry by welcoming sixth-semester students from Batam Tourism Polytechnic (BTP) through an industry visit program on Monday, 13 July 2026. Held at Aston Batam Hotel & Residence, the activity provided students with direct exposure to the operations of an international four-star hotel while allowing them to understand hospitality service standards applied in the industry.
The visit was attended by morning and evening class students from the Food Service Management Study Program, accompanied by the leadership team of Batam Tourism Polytechnic, including Vice Director II Dr. Syafrudin Rais, M.Par, Vice Director III Eva Amalia, M.Si, Head and Secretary of the Food Service Management Study Program Dr. Rezky Al Hamdi, M.Par, Head of Student Affairs Miratia Afriani, M.H, along with lecturers and instructors.
Providing Direct Industry Experience
The program began with a welcoming session and introduction with the Heads of Department of Aston Batam Hotel & Residence. During this session, students gained insights into hotel operations, workplace culture, and various career opportunities within the hospitality industry.
Students also enjoyed a breakfast experience at Basil Restaurant as part of the introduction to Food & Beverage service standards implemented at Aston Batam Hotel & Residence. Through this experience, participants were able to directly observe service quality, food presentation, and restaurant operational standards at a four-star hotel.
Furthermore, participants joined a guest service simulation guided by Chef Sukma Nurya Dinata, Executive Chef and Hafid Khoirudin, Food & Beverage Manager of Aston Batam Hotel & Residence. This session provided students with an understanding of restaurant service procedures, team coordination, and the importance of creating the best experience for every guest.
Sharing Hospitality Insights with Industry Practitioners
In addition to gaining operational experience, students participated in an insightful sharing session with Sukma Wandansari, Director of Human Resources of Aston Batam Hotel & Residence. The session provided valuable knowledge regarding the competencies required in the hospitality industry, career development opportunities, and the importance of building professionalism and a strong service culture.

Hotel Tour Introducing Four-Star Hotel Operations
To complete the learning experience, Aston Batam Hotel & Residence invited participants to join a hotel tour covering various operational departments, including Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Kitchen. Through this activity, students were able to observe the workflow of each department directly and understand the importance of teamwork and collaboration in delivering excellent guest service.
As a closing activity, Aston Batam Hotel & Residence also presented door prizes in the form of Food & Beverage vouchers and stay vouchers for students who actively participated throughout the program. The interactive and enthusiastic atmosphere added to the memorable learning experience during the industry visit.
Through this activity, Aston Batam Hotel & Residence hopes to continue strengthening collaboration with educational institutions in developing competent, professional, and industry-ready hospitality talents who are prepared to support the growth of the tourism sector.
